    Our client the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) is an association for clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals, dedicated to improving the health of people affected by allergic diseases. The non-profit organisation with an international and high-motivated team is based in Zurich and comprise over 10,000 individual members world wide. EAACI is looking for a new team member as an Annual Congress Specialist.

  • Your responsibilities:

    The Annual Congress Specialists reports to the Annual Congress Manager and is involved in the organisation of the annual congress with around 8,000 participants. The key tasks of the Annual Congress Specialist include:

     

    • Involvement in the organisation of the annual congress in the “Annual Congress" team of three employees and in close collaboration with the Annual Congress Manager
    • Involvement in the planning and development of the annual congresses
    • Responsibility for the on-site management of the annual congress
    • Administration of the available congress budget, particularly on contracts and invoices
    • Negotiations with partners and suppliers
    • Planning, coordination and monitoring of exhibitions
    • Person of contact for local suppliers (catering etc.) and hostesses
    • Responsibility for the implementation of safety, first aid, signage and cleanliness
    • Administration and allocation of meeting rooms for committee meetings and internal discussions
    • Collaboration with the Marketing and Communications department and the Events and Education department
  • Your profile:

    You have a bachelor's degree in business administration, preferably specialising in congress and event management, and have also gained at least 4 years of professional experience in the planning and organisation of congresses and events. For  the vacant position as Annual Congress Specialist, you also bring the following criteria:

     

    • Organisation of scientific congresses and events with more than 5000 participants
    • Collaboration with professional congress organisers (PCOs) and destination management companies (DMCs)
    • Project management experience, and experience with MS Project would be of advantage
    • Experience in working with exhibitors, suppliers and sponsors
    • Familiarity with the international and multicultural working environment
    • English business fluent, German and other European languages would be of advantage
